Position: Family Child Care Program Associate, NF-1702-03
Salary: $12.74 - $14.74 Hourly

Duties: Serves as a Program Associate with responsibility for providing support and assistance to 25-40 registered and certified FCC (Family Child Care) providers. Assists FCC Director and Trainer in helping providers translate professional development training into practice. Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques. Helps providers create developmentally appropriate childcare environments; guide children's behavior; select and use toys, materials and equipment; and plan meaningful curriculum. Assists providers in menu planning and tips for food preparation. Shares strategies for balancing home life and FCC. Conducts home visits as required for the purpose of providing support and assistance. Assists professional FCC staff in helping providers achieve home accreditation and credentials. Uses designated evalutation materials to ensure assigned areas is in complicance with standards and procedures as outlined in regulations.

    General Schedule
  • Possess a CDA/School-Age Credential (including Boys and Girls Clubs of America)/Army Youth Practicum. Possess 12 months of experience working as a Family Child Care (FCC) provider (from the date of provisional certification) in a military FCC program. Demonstrated work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level OR Posses BA/BS degree with a major emphasis on ECE, Elementary Education, Child Development, Home Economics, Special Education or related field. Possess work experience directly related to the duties to be performed.

  • Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
  • Possess 12 months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.

  • Initiation of State Criminal History Repository checks for each state where an individual has resided for the past five years may be required prior to appointment to a position.

  • All required background checks of AR 215-3, must be successfully completed and maintained including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI); to include a health assessment is required.
