Total
Body Conditioning
Experience a challenging and dynamic cardiovascular and strength/CORE training workout
using Body Bars, resist-a-balls, hand weights and medicine balls. Workouts vary using aerobic, floor routines, jump
ropes, step and circuit / interval training. The instructor challenges the beginner as
well as the "seasoned" athlete.
Fees: Civ - $19.00 (6 weeks) Military

Spinning®
The ultimate indoor cycling experience! This
simulated bike "adventure" works the entire body in a group environment set to
high-energy music and instructor's guidance. Classes
are limited in size so register early. Water
bottles are required and cycling shorts are recommended for both men and women. This class
is a great cross training program for other sports and for the outdoor cyclist as well.
Come travel the "journey!"

Strength
Conditioning
Strengthen and define all the major muscle groups with dumbbells, resist-a-balls, bands,
body bars, and mat work. Learn how to effectively train the muscles for a
toned and strong physique in a fun, energetic class..
NO AEROBICS IN THIS CLASS.

Yoga (Iyengar style)
The
yoga class begins with a few minutes of relaxation, breathing and warm-up stretches.
The sessions ends in stillness and peace. The prolonged benefits of a focused
and quiet mind are unique to each student. Learn meditation, gentle stretching,
focus on breath and body awareness; easy to fairly challenging yoga postures. Basic
yogic principles, guided relaxations. Learn to focus on balancing and releasing
tension in the physical body. Because patrons pay per class, there is no sign up
sheet at the front desk. Payment is made to the instructor.
Fees: All participants pay $8.00 per class
CLASS
INFORMATION
- Some
class sizes are limited (Spinning). If a
class is cancelled due to low enrollment, fees will be returned or combined.
- Classes
must be paid for at the time of registration. Decision
on canceling a class will be made before the session begins. Official registrations for all classes are held
one week prior to the start of classes but can be done as early as two sessions in
advance.
- Class
times are subject to change.
- Refund
requests will be issued for written medical purposes only.
- Group
exercise classes will not be held on holidays.
- "Trial
classes" are free for first time visit, except Yoga
- Guests
must be accompanied by their sponsor at all times.
Guest fee is $7.00 per day.

All tanning is non-refundable. Limited to one visit
per every-other-day. All packages are activated on the first tanning visit.
Packages may not be shared.
Children ages 15 and under may not tan. Children ages
16-17 may not tan unless a parent of legal guardian signs the History and Consent form.
The form must be signed and witnessed by an operator of the fitness center.
PATRONAGE ELIGIBILITY:
You are eligible to patronize the RIA Community Fitness Center
if you meet any of the following conditions:
- You are active duty military or a family member
- You are retired military, a National Guardsman, a
Reservists or a family member
- You are an Arsenal Island civilian employee or a
family member.
- You are a retired Arsenal Island civilian employee
or a family member
- You are an RIA federal employee or family member.
- You are from any other category identified in Army
Regulation 215-1, (contact the center for clarification)
Family members are established as in accordance
with Army Regulation 640-2 as being a lawful spouse...children under the age of 21 and
unmarried...children over the age of 21 to the age of 23 who are enrolled full-time in an
institution of higher learning as long as they remain unmarried and dependent upon the
sponsor for over 50% of their support.
USAGE POLICIES:
The center entitles you to use the following free basic center
services: Use of locker rooms, running track, weight room, basketball court areas,
climbing wall, pool table, racquetball courts and cardio room.
We offer weight room orientation classes by
appointment - just ask at the front desk.
Children ages 8 and under are only permitted in the
Fitness Center between the hours of 1830-2100, Monday-Friday, and 1100-1600 on
weekends. Children in this age group must be accompanied by a parent at all times -
no exceptions.
Children 12 years old and under are not authorized
in the cardiovascular, strength, sauna, steam rooms or Jacuzzi areas at any time. As
a family member, children and youth (16 years old and under) must be under the direct
supervision of a parent or guardian per AR215-1.
Children ages 8 and under may not hit balls from
the batting machine. Youth ages 17 and under may not operate the batting machine.
GUEST POLICY:
Guest fee is $7.00 per visit (Limit: Two guests per authorized patron).
A guest must be accompanied by an authorized patron and MUST LEAVE with
the authorized patron. Only five guests are allowed in the Fitness
Center at any given time.
PHOTO ID CARDS:
Everyone must show a valid ID card to
gain access in the Fitness Center at each visit. Authorized users who do not
possess a valid ID card compatible with our computers must be issued a photo MWR
usage card.
