The purpose of the ER program located in the Employment Readiness Center (ERC) is to provide direct assistance to clients concerned with the job search process and career development. We provide: resource assessment, private sector job listings, help with OF 612s, KSA’s, private sector and federal resumes and RESUMIX, resource and reference library, career development and employment counseling, and support to the military transition assistance programs (TAP). Clients have the ability to work on their own if they so choose using Resume and OF-612 software, videos, job bank, and our reference library. Those wishing individual help may want to call in advance to avoid waiting.

Here is an overview of your federal job search. The federal government – the Army Civilian Personnel – is a world-class employer, hiring world-class employees, world-wide. It is too difficult for them to bring in all of the candidates for a screening interview – so they don’t. They electronically interview you through your Resume-builder. You are not writing a resume; you are writing your answers to an electronic-interview, an “e-interview.” You have one primary question: “Are you good at the skills that will solve their problems?” Learn about your three target audiences, their decision-information needs, how to read a vacancy announcement as an interview, and then how you can write a federal success statement that says “yes, I am the solution to your problems, based upon my time, results and examples.”
