Individuals and families who are relocating to RIA are encouraged to set up a PO Box before they arrive to ensure the proper delivery of their mail. This can be handled at your local Post Office or APO by doing the following:

1. The relocating person should go personally to their local PO. You will need:

* a valid ID (military ID is fine)

* a check or money order (no credit cards)

* a completed application (available on line or at the local PO) 2. The person in charge of that PO must initial the application and fax it to the PO at the new location, along with a copy of the check or money order.

3. The original application and payment must then be mailed immediately.

4. The PO selected in the Quad Cities will then set up a box. Keys will be supplied upon the newcomer's arrival. (Additional fee is sometimes required for keys).

The Quad Cities has three post offices located less than 1 mile from the Rock Island Arsenal.
